Petra Nemcova of Happy Hearts Fund at Give 2 Asia
treats 60 Sunshine children from Sambalthivu,
Trincomalee to 2 fun-filled days in Kandy with
a range of creative and exciting activities. For
many, it was their first visit to the city. The
visit to the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens enabled
the children to experience new and happy surroundings.
The
story telling and drama workshop was facilitated
by Indu Dharmasena, while Lion Kamini Mukundan,
organized the games and talked to the kids.
The books for the reading programme were provided
by The Asia Foundation’s Books for Asia
Programme.
Our Plans for the Future
As we look ahead, The Sunshine Charity hopes to engage in projects and activities for the children of the day-care centre to include among others:
Language classes in English, Tamil, and Sinhalese
